I've been to the site of Hobbiton. Beautiful place. The hobbit-holes are just doorways...they don't extend into the hillsides (which are really steep, much steeper than they appear in the film. It was difficult to scramble up to the holes.)

My neighbor is from NZ and his favorite sports team is the "All Blacks" team of NZ. He says it is the native Maori on the team that make them such winners. Also, we had an article on FR some time back about the Maori having an 'aggression gene' lacking in other people. They were notorious in the past for killing and eating their enemies.
