PARTY HEARTY!.Dennis Kozlowski partied hearty at his $12 million Nantucket mansion over the July 4 holiday.

Corporate disgrace hasn't cramped the high-rolling lifestyle of Tyco's ex-CEO, L. Dennis Kozlowski.

While the shamed fat cat awaits a Manhattan trial for tax evasion - and Tyco's stock remains stuck in the Dumpster - he's been living it up on his $25 million antique yacht and enjoying the Atlantic views from his $12 million Nantucket mansion.

re:Dem supporter)))

Considering that the GOP gets its money from small donors, and the DNC gets theirs from big donors, wonder if the market meltdown could actually work in the RNC's favor? All the Dems would have left are the bottom-feeding Trial Lawyer's lobby.

Now that you mention it, I believe that you are right.

Most (at least 80%) of Democrat funding came from big funding sources. Look at whose getting in trouble now. No wonder they are willing to do anything to keep their house of cards standing up.

The combination of a Bush Whitehouse watching the activities of the Chinese (to prevent more influence buying), and the "Campaign Finance laws", and their major financial outlets getting jailed, I wonder how much will actually be in their coffers?

Some points.

Democrats rely on the short term memories of their constitutants. Thus, using Media they can mobilize large numbers of people with media blitzes. It will be pretty hard to do so with limited funds and us watching the Media.

Democrats think of "ME, ME, ME and Money". It is no wonder that the CEO's are Democrat Supporters. Why they agreed and emulated Bill and Hillary Clinton.

The house of cards is beginning to tumble. We must not FUMBLE and let this pass on as blame to the traditional Republican strength as Capitalism. That is the Democrat plan. They are hoping that this will be percieved as a Republican problem. And, not a Democrat problem (As it really is.)

Well, I suppose if I were facing 44 years in prison and civil law suits that will take all my ill-gotten gains, I would be living it up while I could also....

The pictures of the J-Boat is not a sister ship.
It is the ship that he owns.
So he owns what is pictured here.
Sorry about the confusion.

BTW--related topic--"American Family Voices"

This is the secretive organization, mentioned in the NYTs in a thread here, but without the buzz it deserves. It's buying air time to blame Bush for the unethical CEOs. AFV is funded through an elaborate non-profit mechanism which allows the donors to remain secret...and it is run by James Carville. I'll try to find the thread, but I'm not too good at the present search mechanism.

I'm either looking in the wrong place or not reading the information correctly, but from what I found both Dennis Kozlowski and Tyco International are big-time Republican donors. In the 1999-2000 election cycle, Tyco's soft-money contributions to Republicans were about $280,000 and to Democrats were about $70,000. The only money Kozlowski himself has given in the past few years has been to three Republican politicians, Rudy Guiliani, John Kasich, and Charles Bass. I got this info from opensecrets.org.

There's a third alternative, you know -- you're right, and the other posters here (who, unlike you, referenced no source) are wrong.

You note that there's no mention of money in this piece. I read the story about Meyer restoring the Endeavour and that restoration was in the $50-$75 mil range (it could be even more--I remember reading about the restoration and almost passed out about the price). If the boat underwent a refit, you can bet it cost around another $25-$50 mil. The $1.5 mil mooring is probably the cheapest thing--there's the boat's yearly maintenance, not to mention the cost of the captain and crew.

http://www.klmpub.com/seachest/jclass.htm

Endeavour originally owned by aviation mogul Sir Thomas Sopwith that was the 1934 challenger for England. From the moment she was launched in 1934 Endeavour has an enormous amount of charisma. Hailed as the most beautiful J class yacht ever built, Endeavour has beauty as well as speed. She came closer to winning the cup than any other challenger up to that time. When she returned to England she continued to dominate the British racing scene until 1938. As World War II loomed she was laid up for the duration of the war. Sold for scrap in 1947 she was saved just hours before her scheduled demise. After sinking she was refloated, then stored in an abandoned seaplane. Despite all of the neglect Endeavour managed to survive until Elizabeth Meyer brought her in 1984. Once again Elizabeth saw that the yacht could be restored to her former splendor and set out to make it happen. After a five-year restoration she sailed again on June 22, 1989 for the first time in fifty-two years. Now owned by Dennis Kozlowski CEO of the Tyco Corporation. She has under gone a refit at Little Harbor Marine in Portsmouth Rhode Island. Her cabin interior has been repainted, parts of her teak deck have been replaced and she has new electronics and generators. Her hull has also undergone a makeover. New steel plating has been added to the hull, which has been faired and repainted.

Dennis Kozlowski and Tyco International are big-time Republican donors.

You are correct. Kozlowski is a victim of a witch hunt, and those here that believe that he "evaded taxes" a la Snidley Whiplash have been fooled. He personally has nothing to do with such transactions.

If I had the money, I'd be buying Tyco stock right now...
