There is no way to verify the authenticity of Abu Ghaith's interview, but U.S. officials said two weeks ago that a recent audio recording by him in which he claimed that al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden was still alive appeared to be legitimate. Government analysts matched the sound of his voice to previous recordings. Can you say B.S.?
This announcement is simply an act of terrorism in itself, designed to spark fear in U.S. citizens. Too bad we see if for what it is.
On the matter of bin Laden: c'mon!! If he were alive, it would be an incredible, in-your-face P.R. move to make a new video saying "America could not kill me!!" He would not have wasted a nanosecond to do this throughout the war in Afghanistan. Say what you will, but if he were alive, he is smart enough to realize this. The only outside chance that he is alive and will not do this is if he is so ravaged by wounds and/or kidney failure, that he might as well be dead!
