Why I Didn't Vote For Gore
My Left brain ^ | June 28, 2002 | The Debster

Posted on 06/28/2002 1:43:14 AM PDT by Deb

I decided to support the Republican party after years of Democratic faithfullness (this isn't true, but they always start with a lie, so what the heck). It was a hard decision I came to after a long internal struggle (nope).

The Democrats had always been the party of the people, the under-dog, the voiceless (the armed robber), but there was something about Albert Gore that caused me to itch and scratch and occasionally lose my lunch.

What was it?

Was it the lengthy pole up his butt? The inability to tell truth even when knowing how easily he could be found out and exposed? Or was it that creepy kiss (P-tewy)?

Hard to tell. But one thing was for sure...the man used as the model for the preppy, snob with the pole up his butt in "Love Story" MUST BE STOPPED!! He must not be President of my precious United States or Naomi Wolf would be dressing the entire country and we'll NEVER HAVE ENOUGH CORDUROY!!

Oh, sure it bothered me that his father was bought and paid for by Russian agent Armand Hammer, that his "tour in Vietnam" included a babysitter, and that his entire political career had been one show-boating, camera-fest after another, but there was something else.

In truth, I respected the man who invented the internet and brought attention to the abomination that was Love Canal, I can't deny that, and the fact that he lied repeatedly about his father's disgusting vote against the Voting Rights Act was never a huge problem for me because I understand that as a Democrat it's necessary to lie or folks won't like you.

No, the thing that killed my passion for Al wasn't that, while claiming to love the earth, he had a dam opened, wasting millions of gallons of water so he could float down stream in a canoe dressed in brand new LL Bean, while he pretended to paddle...although that was a good one...I think the end came much later, close to the end of the campaign when he strangled that litter of fluffy white puppies with his bare hands.

Call me a sentimental softy, but puppy murder is where I draw the line. Even now, everytime I see a tiny, fluffy, stiff body at the foot of a Democrat, I re-steel myself and say, "No, dammit, I'll never voter for that".

And that's why I didn't vote for Gore.

"Bring back algor! No, no.. we don't want him as President, we wish to be entertained!"

If you want true entertainment bring back Green Al with Carter as running mate. The blind leading the stupid.

LOL! That was great!

Dubya just turns around and looks at him and then Gore realizes he got caught and looks sheepish!

That was priceless.. Please, please.. Nominate algor!

I completely forgot about that. That, the (ahem) "lock box" and "clymer"

LOL!

For months every thread on FR featured a post reading: "But, what about Dingell-Norwood?"

The topic could be condoms in the schools and you would still find it in there somewhere. ROFL!

Oh my gosh.. I should have taken the time to archive all that stuff just for the entertainment value.

He didn't learn the lesson yet. He wants to try again. A pox on him.

I hope he does. Honestly, I think they'll send out another southerner. I expect to see a democrat ticket that looks like "Southerner/Californian".

They will use the southerner to soften Bush's strong support here, and they know that they MUST win in California.

Is this a joke?

Is this a joke?

What seems funny about it? Practially every administration in the last 30-40 years has had a southerner, and or Californian.

That's how the game is played.

W. Bush-TX
Clinton-AR, Gore-TN (apologies to my neighbors)
G.H.W Bush-TX
Reagan-CA
Carter-GA
Ford-Appointed
Nixon-CA

Johnson-TX

It's a fact-the combination of appeasing southern and California voters is a big winner. If you do well in the south AND win in California, you have a landslide.

Maybe I misunderstood. The way you phrased it made me think you were suggesting Bush had stong support in California. That isn't possible.

I just couldn't vote for Gore when I found out he was a slumlord who couldn't be bothered to repair the toilets in the rental property.

There are just too many bad things about Algore to remember all in one fell swoop, that's for sure! Don't worry - you still get the gold star for this essay :-).
