Call it the "Spirit of 9-11." A silent mobilization is sweeping the city. New Yorkers, young and old, are coming to grips with the fact that it is better to die fighting than to simply die.

Unfortunately, city officials don’t agree.

Someone should ask the victims of this incident their opinion of gun control and concealed carry permits.

I would be willing to bet that they are STILL opposed to the concept of being permitted (legally) to protect themselves and that they STILL believe that tighter gun control legislation will prevent such crimes in the future.

The indoctrination is thorough.

One more think I would like to find out with respect to this case: why did the shooter pick that particular bar? Could it be because, at some level, he expected his prey would not offer resistance? The Lower East Side is not exactly a hotbed of conservatism, and the nearest echt Cracker is probably somewhere on Staten Island.

So why pick on people who probably agree with him in his condemnation of "White" society? It's not as if he went to a blue collar bar in the boroughs.
