COMMENTS:None Dare Call It Treason.****************** For Carter to visit Castro is a dishonor to his classmates at the Naval Academy who lost their lives to honor American values. Most troubling is he is involved in un-American activities consorting with an enemy who publicly announces his desire to destroy our way of life. Go Jimmy, just dont come back. I contemplated writing a letter to Jimmy Carter, now I don't have to because this says it all.

Jimmy Carter was a pathetic president. He also gets millions of dollars from Arab nations that support terrorism. I award Carter the most pathetic president (award) in the history of the USA.

The success of failure of the policy will require awaiting Castro's death. It would be highly unfortunate if the lack of the embargo increased the chances that the tyrannical regime Castro created and sustained survived his death. It is disappointing that the embargo did not along with other factors topple him. But getting rid of the tyranny is job one. The possible interim economic hardship to the people, assuming the lack of an embargo would actually cause the standard of living or ordinary folks to increase, is secondary.

I never said that Carter got the most money from the Arabs. All I said is Carter got tens of millions of dollars from the Arabs. But Carter followed by Clinton are the two worst presidents in the USA. Bush's father should have finished Sadam when he had a chance.

What do you want to happen after Castro dies?

Have the lives of the people of Cuba improved because of other countries lifting their trade bans?
No Only the Castro government and the companies that are trading with it.
The United States is not responsible for the plight of the Cuban people

Here'a an obvious RAT disruptor. Why are you posting on a conservative forum?
To: Sam11
Some might suggest that running a tyranical regime, where you kill your domestic political opponents, misses the point of being human. I guess it all comes down to priorities.

Times were tough with Carter, but they got a lot tougher under Reagan and Bush. Remember all the homelessness, the unemployment? Those were rough times. Well, I got married under the Carter administreation and bought my first house then. The Carter administration was the reason that they created the term "misery index" ... because of him and his policies.
Your comment in this regard w ould be laughable IMHO if it weren't for the seriousness of the impact of such socialist programs to the vitality and the well being of our free Republic.
Carter was a disaster ... Clinton was an abomination.
The Reagan years, by comparison, were a bright spot both in terms of the economy and its turning around, and in terms of foreign policy.
Finally, are you really so naieve as to think that the rank and file citizens in Cuba would benefit from the stop of the embargo? Have you spent very much time in some of these countries? I have seen my share of the misery brought about by the marxist/socialist agenda and rulers in various countries around the world.
If you believe that the implementation of such policies here by the likes of Carter and Clinton are anything approaching "good times" or "not so bad" ... then you operate on a totally different wave length from myself and most others on this board. Sort of like the Torries were at the opposite end of the spectrum from the founders and their supporters.
But that's okay ... free speech and dissent give you that capability ... it certainly doesn't change the fact that such a course is destructive to the very freedoms and rights which allow you to promounce them though.

Terrorist states do not make, sell, or otherwise distribute greatly needed medicines to poor countries That strikes me as an odd comment.
