Abercrombie & Fitch, an apparel retailer that is no stranger to controversy, has sparked outrage again by selling thong underwear to young girls.

The Christian-based American Family Association said Wednesday that it has been assured by the retailer that it was pulling the underwear from its abercrombie stores, a chain for girls and boys ages 7 to 14.

Abercrombie said it would pull the panties from stores after receiving as many as 120,000 e-mails from people who were furious...

Score one for the good guys; however, A & F sure got a free advertising ride, even though it's negative.

Abercrombie & Fitch are pulling the young girl's panties?

I'd like to know the name of the AF bigwig who signed off on the thong underwear emblazoned with cherries for prepubescent girls. I think he should qualify for registration under Megan's Law.

I'm guessing a fly on the wall could get them all arrested.

I don't trust 'em for a moment. They've backed off before, only to prepare for another lewd catalog of underagers layered upon each other and lacking in clothes. I'm not sure how a clothing company sells clothes when the teen models are shown from the rear running down the beach nude.

I consider selling sexualized youth to hype clothing on the next page to be the corporate equivalent to dumping pollutants into the river. Only they are dumping their sewage into the culture - like we didn't have enough already. How much longer before Tony the Tiger is shown getting it on with a 6 year old on the Frosted Flakes box.....

it is also amazing how this A & F company has got young girls mesmerized with its clothing too, I'm talking about the non-lingerie clothing they sell.

Tell that to Disney. Or Arthur Anderson, for that matter.

I couldn't believe this when I heard it on the news today. What neanderthal thought it was OK to put little girls in thongs in the first place? And what idiot parents would buy them? No wonder 10 year olds are getting into the kinds of trouble that used to involve 14 or 15 year olds. Children are being denied their childhoods, and it's sickening.

They thought that the controversy was about the "graphics" on the underwear. They've just been replaced with a celebrity endorsed line "What Would Stripper Mommy Do?" < /sarcasm >
