Thanks for responding...she is not a good candidate. She has gained quite a bit of weight as a result of the steriods they have placed her on. She needs to loos about 100 pounds of water weight.

Surprisingly, lung transplants are pretty temporary compared to most organ transplants...even if she was a good candidate. It appears the most time a person can look forward to after a lung transplant is about 5 years. :( BUT...5 years is pretty valuable...if she can qualify.

A friend of my just died, she was the worlds longest living double lung transplant patient. She lived 12 years with her transplanted lungs. If it comes to that for your sister, I pray she does even better.
