Rep. King: Halt Arab Immigration, Saudis 'Almost Enemies'
NEWSMAX ^ | 4/21/02 | Limbacher

A leading New York congressman said Sunday that the U.S. should halt all further immigration from Arab countries because most of them support terrorism, and that Saudi Arabia should be considered "almost an enemy at this stage."

"I've always been very supportive of immigration in the past," Rep. Peter King (R-NY) told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg.

"But I think perhaps it's time to consider actually stopping immigration from countries which harbor terrorists and countries which do not fully comply with us on terrorism. That would include most of the Arab states, quite frankly," King said.

Since the 9/11 attacks, the U.S. has issued more than 50,000 visas to Middle Eastern Arabs, according to the newspaper Human Events.

King called continuing immigration from countries that sanction terrorism "a time bomb," and suggested it was time for the Bush administration to begin viewing Saudi Arabia as a potential enemy nation.

"For years we considered (Saudi Arabia) an ally and we would sort of give a wink and a nod when they would say or do something that was not appropriate cause we felt that in the final analysis Saudi Arabia would be with us," the Republican moderate told Malzberg.

"But more and more it's becoming obvious (that) they're not with us," said King, noting that 15 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia and the fact that the Saudi's continue to bankroll groups that foment terrorism.

"I still think there's still hope in dealing with Egypt," King said. "There's still hope in dealing with Jordan and perhaps Morocco.

"But I think as soon as we can cut loose from Saudi Arabia it's going to be a plus for the United States, because it's not even a question of creating problems for us," the influential congressman added. "They're an absolute - really almost an enemy at this stage."

Listen to Steve Malzberg on WABC's "The Buzz with Malzberg and Bey," 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET weeknights - and solo Sunday morning, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET.

It would take another 9-11 for that to happen.

(16:30) Islamist group rallies at Israeli consulate (in Manhattan)

NEW YORK About 150 protestors from the militant Islamist group Al-Muhajiroun called for jihad against Israel and the US at a rally across from the Israeli consulate on Friday afternoon.

They shouted "Death to Israel and called on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, US President George W. Bush, US Middle East special envoy Anthony Zinni, and the United Nations to "Go to Hell" as police protected the demostrators.

The participants handed out flags emblazoned with the opening lines of the Koran and waved signs at the consulate that read, "Jihad: The only solution for Palestine," and "Islam came to dominate the world."

The demonstrators also voiced support for terrorist groups Hamas and Hizbullah.

A brave and dead reckoning of truth by Rep. King, wish we had more honest politicians.

We are being fools, they are not our friends we are merely a consumer for their oil. But they need us as much as we need them - and they know it.

Isn't Peter King one of the impeachment weasels?

Rather than take accountability for his mindless pro-immigration stance, he now gets to project himself as "intelligent and sober" in determining that his previous undermining of America was a bad idea.

However, this means (since King has no principles to stand on and shifts positions like a weathervane) that even in NY there is some sanity concerning the Saudis among the general population.

I don't know why Americans want to import suicide bombers. We shouldn't allow these barbaric people into the US, let them stay in their Islamic paradises instead of letting them come here and try to overturn the Constitution and turn the US into an Islamic paradise.

Since the 9/11 attacks, the U.S. has issued more than 50,000 visas to Middle Eastern Arabs, according to the newspaper Human Events.

Here's a happy thought from Middle East expert Daniel Pipes:

Islamists constitute a small but significant minority of Muslims, perhaps 10 to 15 per cent of the population. Many of them are peaceable in apearance, but they all must be considered potential killers.

How does 400,000 to 800,000 -- in our country -- potential killers sound?
