Just call me Spock.

A fairly good counter-argument runs something like this: The vast majority of those 15000 could have been avoided by following fairly simple rules, e.g. don't deal in drugs, don't walk on the wrong side of the tracks, etc. Terrorism, by definition, removes the feeling of safety derived from following such rules, and hence the disproportionate psychological response.

The risk to the typical person has actually risen by, say, tenfold, and to the person living or working in a dense urban area by perhaps a hundredfold. But is still quite small.

On the assumption that we have a substantial possibility of seeing a nuclear weapon exploded in the US, as demonstrated by the Veep usually being in 'an undisclosed location' whenever the President is in Washington, the downside of your calculations becomes obvious.

The PA is a sovereign state? News to me...

The fact that you would try to hide behind a technicality--that the PA government which is funding and arming killers who deliberately target civilians--is not of a "sovereign state". And use that as a vehicle to excuse their war crimes is truly pathetic.

You're not just a terrorist apologist, you are a shameless terrorist apologist, and not a whole lot better than the terrorists themselves.

You make me sick

U R correct about Star Trek. It just seems like insanity has taken hold. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

What would you do if it were your home being bulldozed?

I doubt if I'd be hanging around a war zone watching my house getting bulldozed by men in uniforms holding weapons.

I think you will find most people are good, its the governments that are evil.

Bullsh!t. The reason that laws are created in the first place is to stop the kinds of "evil" behavior humans engage in. It wasn't because people were basically good that God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.

As it turns out, as I get in the last word, there was no Massacre at Jenin.

So, it looks like the slobbering Israel supporters quickly identified the old "blame the Jews" nonsense oozing out of Europe's more enlightened classes again and understood what was going on.

Derrick Pounder has totally destroyed the credibility of Amnesty International. Of course, many of us always knew that organization to be a liar's pit.
