No US concession to the PKK

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The U.S. State Department has announced that the terrorist organization, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) would not be rescued from being tracked by changing its name, and added that the United State would continually pursue terrorist organizations.

Secretary State spokesman, Richard Boucher, told reporters that terrorist organizations changed their names from time to time for various reasons, but added that the U.S. authorities were monitoring such developments closely and did not allow terrorists to gain an advantage with such steps.

"Such organizations sometimes change their names. However, we monitor them closely and determine the connection of new names with terrorism. Once we determine that an organization has a new name, we include it on the list of terrorist organizations," Boucher noted. He said that the State Department and the Treasury noted all the names of terrorist organizations in the United States, and that the Treasury blocked these groups from collecting donations under new names.

The PKK and the Revolutionary People's Liberation Front (DHKP-C) have been on the U.S. terrorist group lists for many years. Groups identified as foreign terrorist organizations by the State Department are not allowed to be involved in any legal activity or to collect donations in the United States. Their members also are ineligible for U.S. visas.

Our EU "allies" refuse to even acknowledge this terrorist group, let alone freeze it's financial assets. Glad to see Turkey is standing by us while our EU "allies" do nothing. Heck, they won't even recognize terrorist organizations like November17 within their own borders.

The Kurds are our ally against Iraq. The KLA was our ally against Serbia. This policy against terrorism is getting more murky all the time. It seems there are good terrorists and bad terrorists. Who distinguishes between the two?

We give Saudi a free ride because they are our "friends" and Iraq is our "enemy" even though no suicide pilots came from that country. A declaration of what constitutes a terrorist needs to be made. Also what constitutes a threat under our policy of states working for the developement of weapons of mass destruction?

Russia and China have helped Iran and North Korea with their nuclear ambitions and yet they are our "friends". China installed a fibre optic system to enhance Iraq's ability to shoot down our planes, but is still our best trading partner. Our foreign policy seems to be a series of if and buts and confusion.

The KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) and the PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) are, but the Marxist Leninist Terror organization PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) is not.. They have organizaed bus-stop and school bombings, forest fires, drive-by shootings, village and town razings w/ mass murder, even suicide bombings, and all kinds of other terror acts.
