I'd be more enthusiastic about the arrests if these sickos had actually been producing child porn. But they were only passing it around. While I believe they deserve arrest and prosecution, I find it hard to believe that in this time of crisis, when we are on yellow terror alert with god knows how many terrorist cells still operating here, that Ashcroft committed the resources and agents to this bust. It just seems like there's more important things to attend to than a bunch of perverts passing dirty pictures around the internet.

It also amazes me that the DEA is busting terminal cancer patients daring to self-medicate themselves in California. I would rather see the DEA reassigned to anti-terrorist details.

I spoke about this with my teaching partner today, who is majoring in social work and has been working with sexually abused children. Even she couldn't believe that the DOJ was doing anything with this, when there's probably terrorists crawling out of the woodwork.

It is my understanding that the investigation began in January of 2001 -- before 911. Any arrest of these pedophiles is good -- I would also like to see major arrests of those who make the tapes and take the photos. Harming children is a 911 everyday for those children victimized.

Well as a Mother of three children, I for one, am glad that Attorney General Ashcroft is doing something about this. I find these people who are participating in this beneath my contempt! I would think that anyone dealing with sexually abused children would feel the same way.

DOJ is doing a very good job on terrorists but that doesn't mean that they, DEA, and the rest of Federal Law Enforcement have to concentrate solely on Terrorists and let other crimes go unpunished.

I give it up to Attorney General Ashcroft and the people at DOJ who broke this case! They have my full support!

Get it through your head--these ARE terrorists--domestic terrorists involved in the torture and brutalizing of children. What could be more vicious?

It seems to me you are making an assumption here. How do we know at least some of these people weren't producing the porn?

I grew up in a different time. We had much more freedom but many of our laws were based on a moral code. I don't see porn as a freedom. Porn was not acceptable when I was growing up and in my opinion in a moral society shouldn't be.

This speaks more about where our society is today more than anything else I think. I don't accept it and I hope they round them all up.

Just because we are at war, doesn't mean people who break the law, shouldn't be arrested and punished. We are talking about children here. These are people’s babies. Have you any idea of what goes on behind closed doors, in order for these pictures to be taken? Do you know what these monsters do to children’s lives?

Do you know what sex addicts do with these pictures? Do you have any idea how long it takes for them to find porn boring after awhile, growing hungry to try the real thing? Frankly, I would be THRILLED if my neighbor was busted for looking at naked children. I have two children to raise, love and protect. I don't want to live next to a pervert; someone who gets off on looking at naked children. And I'm certain no one else does either.

I for one thank God we have someone leading our country right now, who is willing to go after perverts in order to protect our children.

You are minimizing the situation, thinking...it's not so bad. They aren't as evil as the terrorists, right??? WRONG! Evil is evil and every bit of it must be stopped, if we are able. Child pornography is EVIL and it’s against the LAW!! Period! End of discussion!
