Here is today's ACTION ITEM:
ISSUE: According to an article by Wes Vernon of NewsMax.com, "World Government is pounding on our door and demanding that the U.S. surrender its sovereignty and let the United Nations take over our lives. Worldwide taxes would be imposed by people in far-off lands elected by no one."
This is not conspiracy theory. This is fact. It is happening right now.
Global taxation is the centerpiece of a four-day United Nations conference this week in Monterrey, Mexico. The gathering is to consider recommendations of a special High Level Council.
American Policy Center (www.americanpolicy.org) has issued a bulletin saying, "Quite simply, the U.N. wants the ability to tax citizens of the United States and other nations on an individual basis."
Think: Global IRS.
A new international organization is envisioned, the Economic Security Council (ESC), which is intended as the vehicle for formulating the global tax. This would be accomplished through "information sharing" coordinated by the United Nations to track economic activity of every person and every business.
Known as the Tobin Tax, named after the Yale economist who came up with the idea, the purpose is to provide the United Nations with "independent funding." The aim here is to free the U.N. from those annoying elected U.S. officials who insist on accountability to the taxpayers who foot the bills.
The Tobin Tax, an exchange of currency among nations, is estimated to yield more than 100 times the U.N.'s current budget. No more arguing with people such as Sen. Jesse Helms who have led the drive to withhold payment of U.S. dues until the U.N. becomes less irresponsible. Once this is enacted, the watchword would be just pay up and don't ask questions.
With that kind of money, the United Nations would be able to call the shots as it pleases.
Sovereignty International warns, "Once the United Nations has independent financing, and an adequate stream of revenue to maintain its own standing army, it will be the world government that has been the dream of globalists for the entire century."
The Bush administration's views on all this are unknown. Inquiries as to where the White House is going on these issues have elicited mixed signals. President Bush needs to hear from grassroots Americans TODAY.
ACTION ITEM: Time is short. Americans need to bombard the White House with demands that the U.S. say no to global taxes. Please sign our online petition NOW, demanding that President Bush say NO to this new attempt at infringement on U.S. sovereignty by the UN! CLICK BELOW:

NOTE: Please forward this email to everyone you know that wants to stop the United Nations from imposing a global tax on the United States. Thank you!
It depends what you mean by "it". Are UN people meeting plotting to tax the richer countires? Yes. Will it happen? No.
As though we should be surprised?
If this administration's circumventing of the will of the American people by granting virtual amnesty to illegal aliens is an indication, we should all prepare to have computer chips implanted, AND the UN Flag raised above the Stars and Stripes at the Capitol.
I suppose they would have to rely on our own IRS for enforcement. I can't imagine a foreign tax collector living very long, by going door to door arresting UN tax cheats.
If I were one of those guys, I'd take up a less dangerous job like clearing landmines, coal mining, or test pilot.
IMHO, the Tobin tax is levied on globalists, not Americans.
While I would prefer that America institute its own revenue tariffs, this "Tobin Tax" will essentially have the same effect: International trade will be discouraged and domestic production encouraged as business seeks to minimize its tax obligations. As usual, those who wish to impose a tax neglect what effect the tax will actually have!!!
We'll start our own bank to handle the income, and begin circulating loans to third-world nations at rates lower than the IMF and World Bank.
In time we will have a financial choke-hold on every debtor nation, including the greatest leach in the world - the U.S. government.
We will then impose policy on defaulting nations. In the U.S., we can force the central government to divest any power or authority inconsistent with the united States Constitution for example.
We can further demand implementation of an unrestricted ownership and conceal carry of arms throughout America, and for that matter, every debtor nation in the world - that should include all of them. Additionally we will require the implementation of the American Constitution by every country in the world - eliminating any further interest in migration to America.
Finally we will cause the elimination of any financial support for the UN by every debtor nation. Our policy will be a simple one; charity begins at home. If you're a debtor nation you have no right to be spending money you don't have to finance an organization answerable to no nation of voters in the world.
For all the effort I expended to write this post, I only ask you to immediately nominate me to receive the Nobel Dynamite Peace Prize, and rename the Atlantic Ocean in my honor.
Total BS. I would bet anyone $100,000 Bush will not pass agree to this tax. Any takers???
Well done. Yes, I think for this posit alone you should be given an even better prize than the esteemed "Nobel Dynamite Peace Prize".
May I nominate you for the prestigious "FReeper Oxford Award"?
Certainly the more prestigious "FReeper Oxford Award" would be quite an honor, indeed. However, the thought of renaming the Atlantic Ocean has a depth of its own.
And BTW -- might some Freepers be surprised that the prestigious 'FReeper Oxford Award' was named after Alfred E. Newman's brother, "Oxford" A. Newman...
As you know, I previously wrote, "If you're a debtor nation, you have no right to be spending money you don't have to finance an organization answerable to no nation of voters in the world." ( A truly sad day when you find yourself quoting yourself. But it's as good now as it was when I first wrote it. )
FReepers know the US government is in hock up to its' ears; holding the title as the greatest debtor nation in the history of the world - expending annual interest payments equal to the entire defense budget, and that sum is growing!!!
Today the Washington Times writes that while President Bush is supposedly opposed to a UN imposed tax, he's going to give it an additional $15,000,000,000 of American taxpayer money sucked from our weekly payroll checks.
That's fifteen BILLION George Washingtons. He warned us about foreign entanglements. Sorry President Washington. No one in government gives two twits about your sage advise. Control of the world is their aim. A quick review of history would tell them it's been tried time and again, and it can not happen.
We are witnesses to organized insanity.
"He said that global taxes already exist in the form of U.N. dues and fees for running the World Trade Organization and other international groups. Last week, Mr. Bush pledged a $5 billion increase in U.S. foreign aid in each of the next three years and suggested the money be given as grants to countries with relatively stable financial and political systems.
We can't pay on the principal we owe the world's money changers, but the government is going to increase the debt it has slung around our neck to placate this international leach propped up through money the American government is giving it to pursue it's plan to eliminate our sovereignty.
