ping - See Chapter 2.

Harry Thomason was only mentioned in a footnote, and apparently he was not interviewed by the committee. He probably would have taken The Fifth, but they should have questioned him anyway, especially on the Mitchell Wood pardon.

It appears the committee did not investigate the link between pardon of Rick Hendrick that was requested by Bank of America chairman Hugh McColl, along with a $500,000 check to the Clinton Library.

Nor did the committee's report examine the pardon of Tyson Foods executive Archie Schaffer, the nephew of Clinton Library fundraiser Dale Bumpers.

One statement regarding the FALN:

The Clemency Decision Empowered Two Dangerous Terrorist Organizations. As the FBI made clear in a written statement prepared for the Committee’s September 21, 1999, hearing: "The FALN and Macheteros terrorist groups continue to pose a danger to the US. Government and to the American people, here and in Puerto Rico. . . . The challenge before us is the potential that the release of these individuals will psychologically and operationally enhance the ongoing violent and criminal activities of terrorist groups, not only in Puerto Rico, but throughout the world."
