The Moment Cafe i think is the pizza parlor on the corner right across the street from Sharons Jerusalem compound. I have eaten there. It Usualy pretty packed with the family set. It is a long thin building wedged between two streets with some outdoor seating. Only hope is that the length of the place shielded some of the familys. It is on the street the peacenic's demonstrate.

Yeah, but didn't you see those comments from the State Department criticizing Israel "for targeting civilians." Is it me or is the State Department in an alternative universe?

a pizza parlor on a corner?? do the Palies have a special hate for pizza places on corners?
a little sarcastic I guess, but isn't it about time to do some serious damage to the Palestinians?

Was out on the Tel Aviv broadwalk when heard of the first attack.
Now on an upper floor of a tall hotel building.
The animals don't attack tall buildings, do they?

It's definitely not you. Someone should tell the state dept to shove it. Israeli incursions into camps and villages inside "occupied territory" with the intent to disarm rebellious groups is perfectly legal both under the Geneva convention and the Oslo accords. But I bet you already knew that. :-)

It seems that every bombing produces lots of injured but (comparatively) few deaths.
Are the whacko's a dollar short on the bomb-making or are we getting spin dried news reports?

Suicide Bomber Strikes in Jerusalem
JERUSALEM (AP) - A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowded garden cafe near Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites)'s official residence on Saturday evening, police said. Witnesses said there were dead and wounded.
One of the cafe's patrons, who only gave his first name, Eran, said that ``there was a huge explosion, simply atomic.''
``There was smoke everywhere and an acrid smell of gunpowder. People were screaming. I've never seen anything like it in my life,'' he said.
The Moment cafe is only about 300 feet from Sharon's official residence in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Rehavia.

It's a good thing the IAF took out their helicopters and airports or you might not be very safe up there. The terrorists are fargin animals and should be slaughtered like the pack of rabid dogs they are.

simply atomic.'' God help us if these Jihadists ever get their hands on nukes.

I hope someday, there will be an investigation, a study, on how just how injurious Clinton/Carville were in Israeli political elections.I doubt it will happen. Jewish Democrats thought Clinton and Carville were the best thing ever. They will never admit they were wrong. I don't see Boxer, Lieberman, Nadler or Feinstein doing anything but blaming Bush for this.

I visit Israel occassionally. It was time. The barbarians are not going to change my plans.

The reason the injury reports delay reporting deaths is it takes a while to die from burns or getting your arms or legs torn off. Just part of the process...

5 Dead 35 Wounded, in Moment Café Bomb Attack (IsraelNN.com) Police are reporting that five persons were killed and over 35 wounded in the suicide bombing attack in the Moment Café in Jerusalems Rechavia neighborhood.
A bomb detonated an explosive device in the crowded café located at the intersection of Aza Street and Ben-Maimon Boulevard, less than 100 meters (yards) from the Prime Ministers Residence. It is reported that Prime Minister Sharon was not at home when the powerful blast rocked the plush residential neighborhood.
Jerusalem hospitals have been placed on alert and emergency rooms are changing over to disaster mode, preparing to accept the dozens of wounded from the blast.
Motorists in the downtown area are urged to clear the streets to facilitate movement of emergency personnel.

This is the thread with the active discussion, started by a Freeper on the scene. It should be the one left in 'Breaking News.'
