USO Canteen FReeper Style....Sunday....March 3,2002

USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Seen it, love it!!

Except John is an asshole in the beginning, he thinks a road crew can just shoot everybody.

Donovan is wrong, but he learns!!

And sesquipedalian is introduced to the audience.

Good morning! It's the east coast that has the early advantage. It works with the stock market too!

But, alas, today is Sunday and they are not trading.

Good Morning, gal. Nice work on behalf of the Seabees. I have a cousin who served in Nam with the Seabees. I will let him know about this thread.

The snow has stopped, it looks like we got 6 or 7 inches,,, except for the drifts. There's at least a 4 ft one across my driveway.

I didn't know a jet could do that!

Two Langley based F-15C Eagles zoom toward the heavens over Virginia's Eastern shore during a training mission. Closest to the camera is F-15C, 83-0027, the 27th Fighter Squadron Commanders' aircraft, accompanied by the 1st Fighter Wing Commanders aircraft, F-15C, 81-0022. Good morning to all!!
It's colder than that proverbial posterior of a well digger this morning in South Texas, and since I'm a well digger, it applies to mine as well.

I really appreciate the tribute to the Seabees!
My bud was Navy in WW II, and he told me a lot about the bravery and tenacity of the Seabees.
They had the can-do attitude that won the war; I really didn't know that it was their motto.
It fits perfectly!
I salute those brave warriors, past and present.

Nitro, I'd rather have you on my flank than Arnold any day!

Tonk, thank you for the remembrance of Ted Maher.
That's another item that we cannot forget!!

Good morning everyone. Wet here in NJ, but so warm it feels like spring. When the sun comes out later, like it's supposed to, I think I'll go to the boardwalk. Have a nice day everyone! (-:

John, just to let you know I think your new software is great! I tried to post a reply, and it told me that something was wrong so I could fix it. Thanks John!

Good Morning EVERYONE! I hope that y'all are having a GREAT morning!

I have something that I would like to tell all of you, especially the men here at the Canteen. I hope that I'm not out of line. I just want all of you to know how much I appreciate you and how you treat the women here in the Canteen. There seems to be a rumbling out there in other threads that some men are not treating the women very well. I appreciate that all of you here treat us with nothing but respect. I feel like a queen when I come into the Canteen. You guys are the BEST and I love you for it! You all are true GENTLEMEN!

Thanks for the interesting info about our SeaBees! It's that "Can Do" attitude that makes our forces so great.

Thanks, Snow Bunny.

As a Reservist, Roger was a Seabee, he'd would have loved this post.
