Berger and Nancy Soderberg, another National Security staffer, made it a habit of attending fundraising events in the White House (illegal) and elsewhere (improper). The White House foreign affairs team was acutely aware of Clinton's foreign fundraising efforts. One staffer called Johnny Chung a "hustler" and yet the President continued to see him. Nancy Soderberg herself got into a tiff with DNC Chairman Don Fowler, who used the CIA to override national security staff concerns about giving White House access to a foreign businessman wanted by Interpol.

Hmmm....so are the worms leaving the festering cess pool? This ex-aide seems to have documentation that the clintons and berger purposefully ignored Osama bin pigpen. Amazing. We all knew clinton refused to really attempt to get bin pigpen, but to know that facts exist that clinton studiously ingored pleas to nail osama is really hard to take.

Hmmm ... the incident in question sounds like Tamraz. From the Downside Legacy timeline:

December 13, 1995

Fowler's DNC schedule for the day shows an 11:30 am meeting with Tamraz. Sullivan also attends. - http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/scandal/inside/cron.html

Fowler reaches CIA Bob and asks him to write a letter about Tamraz, to clear his name with WH staff. - http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/scandal/inside/cron.html

Fowler calls Sheila Heslin, leaving a message when he does not reach her. She sends an e-mail to Nancy Soderberg, expressing concern about this contact by DNC. - http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/scandal/inside/cron.html
