[history]
November 16, 2001 -- Mary Jo White said yesterday she's quitting as Manhattan U.S. attorney, and sources say Gov. Pataki is considering former Whitewater prosecutor Robert Ray to replace her.
Sources say Pataki has backed away from Jim McGuire, his legislative counsel, as his first pick for the influential U.S. attorney job and is now leaning toward Ray, who replaced controversial Whitewater-Sexgate prosecutor Kenneth Starr.

..... "I'll be goddamned ....." Schumer was quoted as saying.
He surely got that right!
He is!

The Post headline writer is a liar. Robert Ray is not Hillary's foe. A foe would have brought her up on charges, got her convicted, and thrown her Her Heinous in jail.

If Pataki wants to fireproof his choice, he should get Rudy's recommendation for the post and nominate that person, making it clear that he value's Rudy's experience and good judgement. I defy the Dems to touch the nominee if Pataki did that.

And now that I think about it, make the announcement with Rudy standing next to Pataki and the nominee.

Well this is a mixed bag of good and not so good news. Robert Ray was too milk and water for me.
At least [thanks be to God] Mary Jo White is gone!

Why can't we get someone who'll do his job?
How about Rudy for Hillary's investigation.

Looks like the M. Rich pardon deal will never be prosecuted, and the facts are well known in DoJ. FBI knew Clinton was getting the money for the pardon in July before the 'last minute' pardon on January 20.
This stinks.
<.sarcasm.>
Good thing ole 'BCCI' Mueller is in place to be sure that justice is served.

Excuse me, but why is this Pataki's choice? US attorneys are appointed by the President.
