This strain is not contagious, especially. To state the obvious, a second case would imply that Anthrax is possibly airborne in the building where they were employed together.
And if they contracted it in the building, then criminal intent is obvious. Anthrax just doesn't float around a building!
I can only hope that, as suspicious as this second case of Antrhax is, that whoever did this (Copycat? Terrorist? Independent fanatic muslims?) that they were not successful in spreading the spores/bacteria very far.

if it turns out to be accurate and not just a mistaken rehash of the earlier rumors by the late crew at the TV station... It was breaking news on WPEC-TV in the Palm Beaches. Reporter was at the Emergency Center in WPB. No one was interviewed, all they had was a press release. And they were all nervous.
To: Don Myers
There was a report some time after the 11th that stated that Al Que'ada terrorist had trained to place agents in a building's air conditioning system without exposing themselves.

Thanks Larry for alerting us.

Oh, oh. Someone is getting to get nuked.
To: Don Myers
Would terrorists spread anthrax this way? This was presumably a test shot. The National Enquirer office isn't exactly a high-profile target. It does happen to be a few miles from where the terrorists lived, so I assume convenience was the main concern.
To: seeker41
So does this mean that it was placed in the air conditioning or vent system somehow? I hope they're testing every business and residence in the immediate area.

"The National Enquirer office isn't exactly a high-profile target." You're kidding, right?

"all they had was a press release. And they were all nervous." Nervousness is not entirely uncalled for in this instance. Still, we must remain calm and continue to search for multiple confirmations (this is simply too serious to leave with any percentage of error).

So someone bio-warred the office of the National Enquirer? I wonder what their next front page will be?
To: Don Myers
I dont get all these "nuke" posts....who do we nuke? the guy who possible planted the anthrax? wouldnt a bullet work just as good?

Yes-- it is possible through the ventilation system of the building. There were reports of such a hypothetical strategy although I do not know the specifics of how it is done.
And the fact that the first man who died with pulmonary Anthrax did not suffer a genetically altered strain/form of the disease does NOT, in my mind, rule out terrorist involvement. What better (and cheaper?) way for a terrorist to culture some of the naturally found Antrhax? The spores live upwards of 50 years in dirt, especially around livestock so I understand.

I can only hope that, as suspicious as this second case of Antrhax is, that whoever did this (Copycat? Terrorist? Independent fanatic muslims?) that they were not successful in spreading the spores/bacteria very far. This is just a few miles from the main hijacker nest. I don't think there's much doubt about who did it. Remember, most of these guys are still on the loose. The suicide hijackers would have been the ideal choice to carry out the test shot--they were going to die in a few days, anyway.

The National Enquirer.
If this is all true....what better way to terrorize a nation with this story at every grocery story check out stand in America?

To: Don Myers
"CDC has found anthrax in the building, although they have not specified where. " Well look, there's always the possibility there's a dead rat or something in the building, hmmm?

terrorist had trained to place agents in a building's air conditioning system without exposing themselves. But why would they do it at The Sun?
BTW, what's their website? They would print this.
