Two points:

1) I think it's more like $700 of Nortel stock (rather than $1000):

2) If, instead of Budweiser, you'd bought $650 of the 1997 Antinori Bolgheri Guado al Tasso Tenuta Belvedere, it'd be worth about $1000 today.
