Nolte: Democrat-Run California About to Get Hit with 50 Cent per Gallon Gas Tax
Breitbart ^ | 05/13/2024 | JOHN NOLTE

In today’s edition of Getting What You Vote For, the dummies in California are about to get hit with a 50 cent per gallon gas tax.

Remember, California voters have handed the Democrat party full power over the former Golden State. Democrats run everything from the governorship on down. Democrats not only hold majorities in the state legislature, they hold veto-proof majorities. In other words…

Republicans are powerless in California. And so…

According to Triple-A, the average cost of a gallon of gas in California today is $5.29. That’s nearly $1.70 more than the national average. In some parts of California, gas costs $6.32 per gallon. The lowest cost for a gallon of gas in that Democrat-run &*&*^%^% is $5.02.

California gas prices are already near six bucks a gallon last time I checked

Another fifty cents is insane, especially given the conditions of the roads

California fuel tax is currently $0.6698 Gasoline is also subject to 2.25% sales tax, which I suspect is also charge to the fuel tax.

Fox News story:

A longstanding emissions reduction program MAY lead to a 50-cent increase in gasoline prices within two years in California, according to a little-known state air quality regulator report.

In September, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the state’s primary environmental regulator, reported gas prices will rise next year by about 50 cents a gallon and every year thereafter to aid in clean air efforts. The price increase does not include the existing gas tax in the state.

Although not described as a revenue generator, if they essentialy double the tax, they will significantly discourage the use of gasoline vehicles in California, thus reducing the revenue from the tax.

Comrade! the gas tax isn’t imposed so that roads can be repaired! It is there to improve public transportation, so desperately needed by the ‘uncared’.

There is already $1.50 in taxes on fuel in Ca. So this would make it $2 taxes per gallon.

“Embrace the suck who voted for this”

What folks need to understand is that California is the #1 recipient of federal income tax dollars. Their mistakes and problems are not just their own. We ALL pay for it... So you are paying out and had absolutely no choice or vote. It is taxation without representation.

They need to be shut off before it will fix it’s self.

By voting down Prop 6 in 2018 Ca voters also gave consent for the Legislators to render future gas tax increases at their discretion. How stupid!

California Proposition 6, the Voter Approval for Future Gas and Vehicle Taxes and 2017 Tax Repeal Initiative, was on the ballot in California as an initiated constitutional amendment on November 6, 2018.[1] The ballot measure was defeated.

A yes vote supported this initiative to:
repeal fuel tax increases and vehicle fees.

California giveth, California taketh away.

First they ‘give’ everybody a $20 minimum wage...

then...

they take some of that wage back via higher gas and other taxes.

The people there voted for the insanity.

its not tax increase per se, it a 50 cent gal increase on the price of gas by CARB. so the headline is BS
oh ya the lowest price of a gal of regular gas is 4.00 to 4.89 a gal.
in my neck of the woods here in cali south central valley its 4.89. cost for me to fill my tank is about $50.00

In Washington state they put a carbon tax on the oil producers, etc. Of course that got passed down to the consumer.

And now all the liberals that voted for it are complaining. It was sold as a tax on those greedy gas companies.

BTW - gas companies average about a 15% profit.
Banks are about 30%
Pharmaceuticals are about 70%. During the pandemic and with the vaccines, Pfizer was at something like 130% profit.
