Hopefully, early on when Trump gets into office he will do a quick study of all foreign grants, loans, etc. and revamp the entire program. He can start by dismantling State’s AID office.

Wish he could.

But... The President doesn’t control the budget. Lots of folks, many on here, like to bitch about signing the CRs, etc. It appears that many ignore or don’t know that Pres Trump asked Congress to produce a budget, as it should, and then head to the negotiating table. They never gave him a budget even Republicans had Congress and the White House. They dragged their feet and forced him into a CR/Omnibus situation.

He wanted money for the military and to handle a few other things. He could get what he wanted, but he was going to have give them what they wanted.

Think about it, he pushed for tax cuts. Rather than enshrine them, Congress made them temporary and they’re about to sunset.

He tried to defund public money going to the NGOs that fly illegals to the US. Congress and the NGOs fought back and won. So he, using the authority vested in the office, just reduced the number of visas and refugees allowed in. Doing that caused many of the organizations to lay folks or close up shop.

He got zero help from McConnell and Ryan in the first two years, obstructed him and has put us where we are today.

To think, the same scumbags are re-elected without trying.

It’s so annoying reading comments like this. Too many of us are talking like if we just elect Trump, he can do this all by himself. Too many of us are only interested in electing Trump. Too many of us have convinced ourselves that showing up & voting for other political offices aren’t as important & might as well be held by a Democrat because the Reublican candidate isn’t our ideal conservative. Way too many of us are reveling in our cynicism & negativity.

What’s sad is that by doing all of those things we are inasvertently hamstringing Trump (if we manage to get him elected. There are a bunch of people on our side that seem convinced that Trump can just snap his fingers & make stuff happen. He’s a good man, but he can’t perform magic. He’s going to need Republicans in Congress- House & Senate. He’s going to need State Governors & Legislators. He’s going to need Local Mayors & Councils & School Boards. The only way he can accomplish anything is with the help of other elected officials.

We are going to have to realize that he will need a coalition & they aren’t always going to agree with us on everything or be our ideal conservative. Some of them may be establishment types. We need the most right leaning people that are electable in jurisdictions across the land. We need judges appointed to Courts across the land. We need Attorney Generals. We need a lot of things. But right now, I’d settle for our side waking up & realizing the folly of only being interested in electing Trump & assuming that he can get us headed in a better direction all by himself.

We need more than just Trump! We need effective control of our Government. That necessitates enthusiasm in electing more than one man! It also means we need to be less negative& defeatist, stop making excuses & get out there & change things 😉🤔
