I occasionally have used Cruise Control (speed control), but, maybe on 20 different days over several decades.

But a car that imagines it knows when to brake, no thanks.

TESLA’s self-driving? No thanks.

My 2018 Honda CRV has adaptive cruise control which along with lane-keeping lets the car practically drive itself on the interstate. Do I trust it to do so? Of course not. Do I take my hands off of the steering wheel? No.

But, that said, it is almost uncanny how the car will hit the brakes when the car in front of slows down, even coming to a complete stop when there is a traffic jam.

I’ve read that the older one is, the less one trusts the technology. I’m a geezer, so I don’t trust it at all, but it does make longer trips much easier.

Requiring this will just increase the cost of cars, which since we should all reallybe taking public transportation might be the point of the thing.

My 2018 Subaru has it. I can’t remember it ever false alarming on me. It saved me from a minor wreck once though.
