It is absolutely the wrong time for Israel (or an Israeli supporter) to make a claim on the West Bank. Perhaps any time is the wrong time.

For one thing, it will just give the antisemites more ammunition. “See how imperialistic Israel is!” That argument is bound to sway some folks. And Israel needs all the support it can get. Bad times are ahead.

More importantly, what would Israel do with the millions of Muslims living there? It is a fantasy to think Israel could deport even a fraction of them. No country would take them. They’d close their borders first.

Grant them citizenship, and you’ve permanently tilted Israeli politics in the wrong direction. Don’t grant them citizenship, and you’ve got a restless colony.

It’s a real mess, to be sure. Perhaps there’s actually no good solution.

The Israeli case for sovereignty is not a case. Its a fact. A fact that goes back over 3 thousand years over which time the Israelis have communicated with their G_d, YWHW in the same language Hebrew.

I remind that Hebrew as a spoken language was dead until the return of the nation of Israel in 1948, thanks to Zionists who were willing to sacrifice their lives in that fight for independence from the UK and others.

IN fact these people are Jordanians, who were shelled in their refugee camps by the King of Jordan years ago when they tried to usurp him.No want wants these people, and the problems they bring, not Egypt, not Jordan, nobody in the Umma. THey have made their bed, shit in it repeatedly and now? They want to do it all over again.
