I’m glad Ron and Donald are rebuilding their relationship, because Let’s Talk Elections said Biden will win Florid, of course, LTE is a LIBERAL you tuber and I’d rather see CNN than watch the LTE YouTube channel.

My question too. Granted its purely theoretical, but there doednt seem to be a “natural born” quibble in this.

I dont see how the Hindu vegan stuff hurts Trump, anyone who would object for that reason are irreversibly committed to him already. It could possibly help among the sandals and tie-die crowd.

I doubt it would help much, for which reason I’m skeptical about Tulsi, but there we are.

You specialize in tired cliches. Ron DeSantis is a leader with a capital L, which he has more than proven as Governor of Florida. The only way to deny it is to close your eyes and mumble tired cliches.

I never had any ill feelings towards DeSantis. I like him, but felt it wasn’t his time. Never said anything bad about him and won’t. I hope he and Trump can work together to hold Florida and America strong and firmly together against the real enemies to this country - Democrats.

Of course a rational factual statement like this will be dismissed

Personally, I think with RDS on his side and hopefully managing much of the administrative crap these two combined could change things for a long time

RDS may not be that charming but he is ruthless and efficient

I am continually surprised at the people in these threads suggesting the VP nominee be from the same state as the presumed presidential nominee.

I'm amazed when somebody brings this point up but doesn't realize that Trump is "from" the state of NJ during the summer and he could easily stay there through November.

US Constitution has no mention of “parents”.
Both parents requiring to be NBC is invention of biased people. Obama is living proof, all one needs to be NBC is to possess a birth certificate showing birthplace in United States.

Natural born citizenship had a particular meaning at the time the phrase was used in the Constitution. It had a meaning that was not dependent on any future legislation that might be written. In general terms, it was understood to refer to someone whose citizenship was self-evidently American. If there were competing claims of citizenship that could reasonably be made, such as would arise if one or both parents were foreign citizens at the time of birth, then one was not considered to be a natural born citizen.

He is registered to vote in Florida. Since he is already running, can he change his state of residency?

That's a good question. Since the Constitution doesn't define what residency means, I would think that it goes by state statutes. I believe many states use the "183-Day" rule to determine residency.

Dick Cheney changed his residence on July 21, 2000.

SCOTUS considers 30 days as ample to establish residency for voting.

I can’t argue about any of that. Main point remains, born in United States to residents of USA makes one NBC.
Parents citizenship is never mentioned in the Constitution.
Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, etc all had American parents. Vivek Ramaswamy’s parents were not yet citizens.

I prefer a person like Vivek 1000 times more than Biden, Pelosi or Schumer.

There are a lot of things in the Constitution that are implied but not explicitly stated. For example, the dates on which the President and Congress are to be sworn in are specified in the Constitution. But no mention of whether the Julian calendar or the Gregorian calendar (or for the matter, the Jewish or Islamic calendars) were being referenced. It was understood that the calendar in common use at the time was being referenced. Likewise, explicit mention of parents was not necessary when using a concept that people of the time were familiar with.

You’re arguing that, because no mention of parents is made, that a person’s parentage was considered to be irrelevant. But we know that’s not true, because for most of our nation’s history, simply being born here was not sufficient to grant a person citizenship, let alone natural born citizenship. The idea that being born here from illegal alien parents automatically made one a citizen, was an idea that was foreign to the framers. In other words, parentage effected someone’s citizenship status and was always understood to be relevant, regardless of whether it was explicitly stated or not. It was understood that parentage effected whether or not someone born on U.S. soil was a natural born citizen because that was part of its definition.

President Obama wining TWO terms has conclusively disproved your theory. As a lifelong engineer, I learned early to rely on actual results than opinions or theory. In case you are not aware, Both Obama’s fathers, natural and adopted, were never US citizens. Which means the powers that be did not agree with your opinions about parents of presidential candidates.

Again, I prefer candidates who are real conservatives, intelligent, have great verbal skills, than people like Pelosi & Biden who have many generations of US citizenships. I could not care less if parents were citizens at the time of birth of the candidate. I only care about quality of the candidate herself or himself.

>>”President Obama wining TWO terms has conclusively disproved your theory.”

Nonsense. My theory is that Obama’s presidency was unconstitutional, not that it didn’t happen. I suppose the “right to privacy” that was used to protect abortions was constitutional for 50 years until it became extra-constitutional again with the recent Dobbs decision?

>>”I could not care less if parents were citizens at the time of birth of the candidate.”

That’s your prerogative. That doesn’t make it constitutional. There are a lot of people who think the 2nd Amendment is unnecessary and should be ignored. Tough luck.
