Despite being slapped down by the U.S. Court of Appeals for ordering a Jan. 6 probationer’s computer use be monitored for so-called “disinformation,” a senior federal judge in Washington D.C. appears ready to reimpose the restriction on Daniel Goodwyn of Corinth, Texas.

Senior U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton ordered Mr. Goodwyn to “show cause” for why the computer monitoring provision should not be reimposed. Judge Walton set a June 4 hearing date on the issue in Washington.

Judges seem to be creating new laws from the bench they then force one to submit to

If judges actually faced any consequences for breaking the law then they would think twice. But they never suffer any consequences that mean anything.

Orwellian scumbag

"He is a former presiding judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.[2][3]"

Bush boy.

Walton also presided over the trial of Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, Scooter Libby. On March 6, 2007, the jury convicted Libby of four of the five counts with which he was charged: two counts of perjury, one of obstruction of justice, and one of making false statements to federal investigators.[7] On June 5, 2007, Walton sentenced Libby to 30 months in federal prison and a fine of US$250,000, and, subsequently, he ordered that Libby report to jail without bail pending any appeals.[8]

Senior U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton ordered Mr. Goodwyn to “show cause” for why the computer monitoring provision should not be reimposed.

Odd, I was led to believe that the prosecution was required to prove guilt in a actual crime.

Here is seems everyone except the defense just assumes guilt of an un-named or un-described charge.

Starting to sound familiar...

He will only stop when he is disbarred and publicly disgraced. His judge’s ego is out of control.

I don't need to hear anything else about him. This judge is as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

I recall the perjury trap that got Scooter. The two a-holes, Powell & Armitage, and the idealistic jerk, Novak, could have spared Scooter’s unfortunate demise.

Judicial activism — horrible.

Out of control federal judges are just one of issues that Congress abrogated long ago. They have the power of impeachment over federal judges and are thus partly responsible for the problem for declining to wield that authority.

To be fair, the reluctance to remove judges has been the norm for most of the nation’s history. Add to that the difficulty of doing so at the federal level. The requirements to do so are the same as those for removal of a president (i.e. majority vote of the House and a 2/3 majority of the Senate). Nevertheless, we no longer live in normal times, and in particular when presidential impeachment has been trivialized by the democrats, judicial impeachment should no longer be off the table.

Meanwhile indoctrinated students supporting Hamas are called "protesters" when they shout "Death to America" not "insurrectionists".

Just think: Those J6 stolen election protestors held up more American flags than Congress

I would welcome an impeachment strategy if I thought it would work, but I don’t see how it can. Maybe it could inspire political action like voting dems out of the White House, but neither federal legislative body seems willing to help.

Nope...

Senior U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton should be ORDERED to “show cause” for why the computer monitoring provision should be imposed in the first place!

FREEDOM of the PRESS!
