Didn’t Trump put Wray in charge of the FBI and isn’t the FBI part of the Executive Branch?
Trump was in a straight jacket.
No one, nada, who was outside the System-in-place, including Pious Pence, was ever allowed passage without Confirmation by the McConnell Senate.
McConnell anointed Only insiders.
Pence, Sessions, Barr, Wray, etc., etc.
The FBI had their ascension system list, same as RINOS have in the Senate, and the R Party system list (until Trump). The party gave us Dole, Romney and McCain.

Wray was among the top three climbers at the bureau. Two were flaky. Chris was flaky, but was quieter about being so. 😄
