JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his War Cabinet are leaning towards ordering the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to launch a retaliatory strike against Iran in the coming days, according to Israel’s Channel 12 news.
A final decision has apparently not been made.
The War Cabinet is expected to convene again tomorrow.
But as war clouds form over the region, the stakes could not be higher.
This is a big deal.
I think that the War Cabinet is signaling that they will probably order a strike on Iran, but leaking word of their deliberations so the Israeli public can begin to prepare, and so that foreign governments — including the White House — are aware of the cabinet's thinking process.
After all, according to the New York Times, President Biden has insisted to Prime Minister Netanyahu and to the Israeli people that Israel should not retaliate.
Therefore, the War Cabinet is trying to walk carefully, knowing that a decision to retaliate would be going against Biden's expressed wishes.

Biden should make it clear that if Israel starts a war with Iran they’re on their own. Such a war is NOT in America’s interest. Or Europe’s either for that matter. How do you think $10 a gallon gas is going to effect economies?

I have tried to support the idea of Israel for a long time
But if they attack Iran, I will reconsider.
Iran had to respond to their embassy being bombed, they had no choice, but it seems they did it purposely so there would be no civilian casualties.
They also said so.. We good now?
Israel has a very important choice now.
Pray they make the right one.

In any event, this appears to be any unnecessary escalation, to me.
I know, a lot of people probably disagree with that, and want Iran turned to glass, ASAP.
Well, that’s not going to happen. At least not over this.
So be the bigger man, or country, and laugh off the inept Iran retaliation to their embassy in Syria being bombed.
Israel won this round. There’s no need for another round to start. But start, it probably will. Unfortunately further isolating Israel from international support, which does matter, whether they think it does or not.

What rock did you just crawl out from?! Iran started the war on October 7 by launching their weapon named Hamas, and their other weapon, Hezbollah.
They did not start this. But they have no choice but to finish it, with or without their “reliable ally,” the United States.
Flatten the oil exporting Kharg Island. Accomplishes several things:
1) More economic pain to Iran than the defense against their attack cost Israel
2) Defunds future terror attacks
3) Can be done with minimal casualties
4) Will increase oil prices, which is not good for Biden’s re-election.
Israel has to respond to the key Iranian 10/7 attack planners.
Iran started this, not Israel.
Actually Bibi and Israel launched the war in October on themselves.
Bibi and Israel since about 2012 had been encouraging Qutar to fund Hamas in Gaza with Bibi thinking he could control the situation and Hamas. Well 11 years later it bit him in the proverbial ASS didn’t it.
It would not surprise me at all if Bibi and Israel orchestrated this mess so they would have an excuse to wipe out Hamas and Gaza. And now they have a excuse to attack Iran, well what is Iran really going to do, they have no army to invade with, no real navy ti speak of and I highly doubt there are anywhere close to having a nuclear bomb. Add to that internal problems and the other night was the only Wad they had to shoot with.
Yeah let’s close the Straight of Hormuz and get to $200 a Barrel Oil. If that were to happen, Biden would be run out of town and recession here we come.

And no Iran did not start this any more than Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
But Israel likely does, and I don’t remember the last inspection reports.
