EVs use the road, too. Pay up.
At least electricity is free, so there’s that. π€‘
Hahaha
>> loss of fuel tax revenue
Oddly in support of that greedy excise taxation
Fight the EV mandates. The Country cannot afford to dispense with its petroleum infrastructure. Fight like your life depends on it β because it does!
The New Jersey State Anthem:
I’ll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit) I’ll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold) I’ll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk) I’ll tax your feet
(Taxman)
Recoup tax revenue lost at the gas pump.
Suckers....
Yep, it’s just the start. You can really save money on gas with an EV.....lol.
Here’s a question:
If we stop producing oil, where will we get the ASPHALT to make roads?........................
Agreed. In Alabama the annual EV fee is $200. IMHO that's reasonable.
Government scammers are scamming scam victims?!
Makes sense
>> The Country cannot afford to dispense with its petroleum infrastructure. <<
Yeah, even the roads near DC are in bad shape. We can’t afford roads which are torn up by EVs, and the cost to replace all those Jersey walls will be high as well.
That said, it is not a punishment to make people pay their fair share, either.
1. presumes the gasoline tax is justified.
2. it’s new jersey
Don’t ask intelligent questions...you’ll upset the elites.
And the tiresβ¦
The Progressives are malevolent morons.
I actually agree with this tax. EVs are way heavier than their ICE counterparts and eat up roads and bridges much faster. The EV buyers have been remiss in paying their ‘fair share’ for the maintenance and upkeep of the infrastructure. Many more states will implement this tax as time goes by....................
Now that EVs are MANDATED in New Jersey, it sounds like they’re done playing ‘good cop’ with their people and so it’s time to now get to the REAL PLAN which is to make the EVs unaffordable, thereby forcing the end of personal transportation in comfortable vehicles.
In NYS 66.62 cents per gallon are state fees and taxes.
If I drive a meager 12,000 miles per year and get 20mpg, I’d need 600 gallons and I’d pay $397 dollars for fees and taxes that is supposedly used for roads and bridges (I know, it’s diverted to welfare programs and the states bond out for repairs)
Most expensive to buy.
Most expensive to ‘fuel’.
Most expensive to repair.
Most expensive on convenience & freedom (range, lack of charging stations, etc)
And now, most expensive in tax/fees
