Any soldier from a NATO country in Ukraine is, by the laws of war, a mercenary, and not protected by Geneva, or any other convention. I truly hope Putin applies the maximum sanction to such mercenaries.
Ten years ago, considering that this outcome will become real would have put me in the loonie-bin. Now, its the fact, jack.
Any NATO trooper in Ukraine, and the morons who sent them, are war criminals.

So... by your logic when Putin a few months ago sent Russian troops and nuclear missiles to it’s ally Belarus to threaten Europe like never before in history, that makes Putin de facto a war-criminal. Right?
I agree with you. What he did makes him a war-criminal, and a violator of the International nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
Thus he has opened Pandora’s box. We are now allowed to do the same, and send troops and nukes to OUR allies as well.
Copycating Putin’s behaviour in the name of equilibrium... why not?
If he is allowed to do it, why shouldn’t WE be allowed to do the same?
