U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said that it’s irresponsible for Sec. of State Antony Blinken to declare that Ukraine will become a NATO member.
“This is completely irresponsible,” Vance posted on X. “Ukraine should not join NATO, and to invite them during a war is to invite our nation into war.”

Do you want American ground troops in Ukraine? If not, we must push back against the idea that Ukraine should join NATO. https://t.co/FkpPFZxbyP

Vance was responding to a video of Blinken, posted by William Wolfe, in which Blinken declared confidently that Ukraine will become a NATO member.

Blinken’s comments come as U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson pushes for a vote for additional U.S. taxpayer funding for the “Ukraine war.”
American Greatness reported yesterday that U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) said it’s “absurd” that the U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson is considering sending more money to Ukraine, and said funding should e replaced with an effort to hold peace talks.
It’s absurd that overnighting more tax dollars to Ukraine is even a consideration.
It should be totally off the table and replaced with a push for peace talks.https://t.co/NFd8a3Da5U

U.S. Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told Meet the Press this week that Johnson “might risk losing the speakership” over the push to provide more funding to Ukraine.

Overthrowing Ukrainian Democracy and the Coup leaders’ plans to join NATO is what caused this war from the start.
Want to erase a generation of men, start a war. This is exactly what they want.
That’s why they’re doing it
NATO is a useless entity, and this country should have dropped out years ago. 75 years this group has been milking money from the U.S. while allowing countries like Germany to fail to build up their own defenses. They promised in 2022 to set up a billion dollar euro supplemental defense fund. This increase meant that Germany would finally reach the 2% of GDP defense spending target set by NATO after many years of spending less than 1.5% of GDP on defense. However, in August of 2023, Germany removed that pledge, and said they would now instead reach it over a 5-year period. And what has NATO done about it? Nothing.
As an Ohioan, I am now as embarrassed by Vance as I am by Brown.
This is likely one of the very few items on which he and I agree.
I still think he’s a grifter and a sham.
Irrelevant as Ukraine will be liberated by Russia LONG BEFORE they’re made a member of NATO. Blinken just ASSURED that outcome.
Vance is 100% right . I am much more proud of him than a dumbass pUkraine supporter such as yourself.

Well said.
Thank you.
I want JD Vance to be VP pick.
Yes indeed. NATO is useless if not stupid and evil.
Yeah, I'm the dumbass.....

Vance probably has never even heard of any of that.....
A real patriot embarrasses you? Oh that’s right, you are a Zeeper. A Ukrainian patriot.
Well, if you insist, dumbass.
Agree
My opinion. Vance, in my view, has never been anything more than a self promoting charlatan. His public views seem to me to be more malleable than I expect in a principled wanna-be-leader; rather more like “which way is the political wind blowing, today?”
I’ve watched him on a variety of TV appearances, and he comes across, to me, as more arrogant than knowledgeable.
I’ve learned to trust my own judgement over these 70+ years, and I think this guy reeks of decadent snobbery that I don’t support in my elected representatives.
