Job growth surged in March, as employers added 303,000 positions and the unemployment rate edged down, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
Why it matters: The U.S. labor market has proved remarkably resilient over the last year, as employers keep seeking workers despite a bumpy economic environment. The latest numbers affirm that strength, handily beating analysts' forecasts.
By the numbers: The jobless rate fell as more people entered the work force — a good sign for growth potential.
The labor force participation rate rose by 0.2 percentage points to 62.7%. Average hourly earnings were up 0.3%, and are up 4.1% over the last year. The biggest categories of job gains were health care (up 81,300 jobs) and government (up 71,000). Zoom out: Revisions pushed January and February's already-strong job growth numbers higher yet, by 22,000 additional positions.

Last year the average adjustment was -51,000 jobs per month. This year started off with a bang with January’s original number of 353,000 being adjusted down by 124,000.
I wonder how Lucretia James would view this overvaluation of jobs.

Lies and propaganda! The economic data doesn’t verify!
The important detail is the numbers in services and in leisure and hospitality. They have either regained their pre covid numbers or are still below them. Proving that most job numbers for the last three years have simply brought us back to where we were in Feb 2020. It’s taken 3+ years to regain what was lost in six months. Not great. Not even good.
People working multiple part time jobs to feed the family.....
While Biden puts money into donors and illegals pockets, single mothers and ‘working’ people get to enjoy ‘job’ slavery to pay the way. Steal from the poor to give to the rich, Biden is a reverse Robin Hood.
