I grew up over there. AKA the western hub of Illlinois evil. I am an RN, worked there in both hospital, as well as other medical venues. Dvlle has been in freefall for years. <B

This is the end result of leftist activity in that area. Consider almost all the area around this city is Conservative...for miles around it, all the small cities.

Lots of trains in danville. Many many trains. I was frequently late to work because of the trains. I always thought of Dville as a “dirty” city. It has lived up to its name.

There is a good side though. Lots of good fishing around the area. Not the lake: Is it still too shallow to ski? I don’t know. But this is not the only business this city has lost. “the old addage of come out of her” really does have signicance for this now defunct city.

I skied it when I was in High School a million years ago - Haven't been on the lake since.

Trains..oh yes the trains, it was said that Al Capone and other gangsters would not do robbery in Danville because of the possibility of getting stopped by a train : )
