Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the government wants to rein in the number of temporary immigrants coming to the country, saying the situation needs to be brought “under control.”
“Whether it’s temporary foreign workers or whether it’s international students in particular, that have grown at a rate far beyond what Canada has been able to absorb,” Trudeau said at a housing announcement in Dartmouth, N.S.
“To give an example, in 2017, two per cent of Canada’s population was made up of temporary immigrants. Now we’re at 7.5 per cent of our population comprised of temporary immigrants. That’s something we need to get back under control.”
The prime minister then said that this is driving mental health challenges for international students and that more businesses are relying on temporary foreign workers, driving down wages in some sectors.

In Canada, the “conservatives” have been the bigger problem regarding immigration.
Miulroney doubled immigration levels established by Pierre Trudeau.
And no Conservative leader has said a damn thing about it.
Trudeau is actually ahead of PeeWee Poilievre in declaring immigration a problem.
Was that to provide extremely low paid immigrant laborers who are terrified of being turned in and deported or jailed?

Yes. Corporate Agenda. Cheap labor. However, these were legal immigrants.
The Liberal Party used mass immigration starting in the 19th century as a demographic weapon.
First they imported enough from Southern Europe to turn the country majority Catholic. (In Canadian history, broadly speaking: Conservative=Protestant, Liberal=Catholic)
Then in the 1960’s the Liberals opened it up to the Third World for deliberate mass non-white (and non-Christian) immigration.
The Conservative Party was split because their big business supporters always wanted cheap labor. Here in British Columbia even prior to WW1, major factions of the Conservative Party wanted chinese immigration to drive down wages.
They apparently still don’t see it they passed Biden’s funding with a minority of Republicans & a majority of Democrats. I’m so glad we won the House. Me Rep, Julie Letlow hopefully will be Letgo in the upcoming primary for a MAGA person.
