A vigilante group in Southern California is taking the squatting crisis into its own hands by removing the unruly tenants themselves.
Though they officially launched as a business little more than a year ago, the Squatter Squad is now fielding up to 30 calls a day from victims complaining that someone has broken into their home and changed the locks.
Entire communities in pockets of the Golden State have been ravaged by criminals turning properties into strip clubs and drug dens, hosting all-night raves, or simply claiming tenant rights without any form of agreement.

I’d say this was a blue state problem but it seems to be happening everywhere as Biden allows illegals to flood the US. At least DeSantis did something promptly to deny squatters’ rights. The rest of the red states need to immediately do the same. Expecting any action at all from blue states is unrealistic.

Let me get this straight, someone goes on vacation for a few weeks, a squatter breaks in, changes the locks then claims it’s their domain? I know in NYC, it only takes 30 days after lease termination of squatters staying there they claim “squatters rights” and it takes years to get them out...is this the same? Worse?
They’ve also perverted the Bible as well....
There are literally hundreds if not thousands of Expensive homes in SoCal neighborhoods on the West Side and the Valley that are second and third homes.
Squatters’ rights ... just another Democrat success story.
Mercs cost less than damages, lawyers, and courts…
These guys are playing with fire. California is a Marxist totalitarian state and these guys could end up in prison for decades.
Thousands? Not hardly.
Even the rich don’t leave expensive homes empty. They’ll rent them out or lease them for big bucks etc. The era of having 2nd and 3rd homes even for the wealthy, have all but come to an end except for maybe a few. Way too expensive and risky to keep luxury homes empty.
Maybe millionaires.
But not billionaire oligarchs like Soros. They can afford 24/7 security staff to patrol all their homes, and maybe live on the grounds.
I could point out a good 50 easily, their housekeepers go with them to Malibu every summer and only goes to the city shack occasionally all summer. Half of Malibu Beach homes are part time too.
