A Chinese national who entered the U.S. illegally was arrested after sneaking onto a Marine Corps base in California and refusing to leave, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed. Border Patrol agents confirmed to a local news outlet that the Chinese national was arrested Wednesday after entering onto the Marine Corps base in Twentynine Palms. “His purpose & intent behind his actions are still being investigated,” Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino posted on X.
According to the Daily Mail, there have been over 100 instances of Chinese nationals infiltrating military bases in the U.S. over the past few years.

We have had Marines die because they got left behind and couldn't make it to safety before the heat got them.

He did this in Twentynine Palms and wouldn’t leave? The MPs should have just given him what he wanted, driven him to the most remote part of the base and dropped him off. No one would ever hear from the guy again.

It is easy to end up right at that base gate without knowing that is where you are going. Only at the last minute do you realize you are now right at the gate and you don’t belong there. If you miss the turn off east at Amboy Rd, that public street dead ends right at the base gate. You are already suspect before you can even get turned around.

I wonder if they caught him at the northern border of the base? The northern border is along historic Rt 66 and the AT&SF railroad. No signs or nothing that the base is even there. There are historic rt 66 tourists there all the time at a little historic railroad town where the marines just happen to load armoured equipment on and off the trains. I have been checked out many times right there because I was parked kicking back watching them blow the hell out of the desert while training.
