In April 2023, Santa Ana Unified School District removed the Trevor Project Crisis Hotlines from posters at all K-12 schools, as well as from counselors’ business cards. I watched it happen.
They did so because in February 2023, I and others showed the Superintendent and board members screenshots from TrevorSpace, an online chat site recommended to students through the Trevor Project. The screenshots revealed TrevorSpace could easily be abused by online predators taking advantage of naïve kids, especially kids in crisis. TrevorSpace advertises itself as a place to meet LGBT friends. It says that it is an affirming international community for LGBT young people ages 13 to 24.

I remember when Santa Ana was concerned about the danger from Vietnamese gangs. Now the priority is grooming children for sexual exploitation.
I truly do NOR miss my days in Tustin/Santa Ana. Those places were on the verge of going to sh!t back in the early 90”s, can’t imagine how bad they are now.
Neither can I. I still don't understand why Philip K.Dick, the author of Blade Runner, chose -- CHOSE -- to live in Santa Ana. It was a place to leave.
I must have visited the nice part of Tustin in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s.
Well, I’m from the Midwest so I guess I had no idea. Oops.
