The Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a man’s lawsuit challenging his placement on the federal government’s “No Fly List” can proceed, finding that the government did not prove the case was moot after removing him from the list.

Yonas Fikre, a U.S. citizen, claimed the FBI unlawfully placed him on the list and pressured him to become an informant.

While the government argued Fikre’s removal meant the case was moot, the Court rejected this view, allowing the merits of the allegations to be examined in lower courts

This will force the Government to defend itself... which may help others down the road since it’s pretty likely this plaintiff wasn’t the only one they’ve used this tactic on.

1. Government ruins a person's life
2. Person sues
3. Government is afraid they might lose the case
4. Government removes impediment that ruined person's life
5. Case goes to court
6. Government argues that the case is moot because the impediment has been removed and the plaintiff no longer has a case or even standing
7. Government hopes to get away with it

It's good that the Supremes saw past this charade this time, but how many times in the past has it worked?

... and pressured him to become an informant.

I wonder if any of those minority genius women (/sarc and LOL) on the SC will factor that piece of information into their opinions on the case about the Fed’l Gov’t alleged right to tell any of the press/media which articles/stories to suppress.
Maybe the good brother Clarence Thomas will be able to explain it to the other minorities on the Court.
sigh ... I know.Hope is not a strategy.

8. Government seals all NFL process documentation as National Security items. Case dismissed.

The basics of the case as I understand it flow like this. He flew out of the country. After he was out of the country the FBI put him on the no fly list. That means he was considered a threat to the airlines or was suspected of somehow being involved in terrorism. But then, the FBI offered him a deal. If he would become an informant, they would remove him from the no fly list. Here is what I think is important about this: When the FBI offered him the deal, it NEGATED entirely their reason for putting him on the no fly list! If he was a threat when they put him on the no fly list, then being an informant doesn't mean he was not a threat! This was a colossal fustercluck by the FBI and the courts have seen the idiocy of what they did.

I left out the part of the ordeal he went through because of what the FBI did because others have posted about it.

Since Clinton the alphabet agencies have been corrupted to
a degree. Now they are all in on corruption.

Some of our agencies need to be shut.

Department of Education
EPA
BATF

I hate to say it, but the FBI warrants a serious hit, and
the CIA right along with it.

The FISA court needs a relook.

Fraud needs to be looked at in several cases.
