Poland scrambled fighter jets to protect Polish airspace during Russia's drone and missile attack against Ukraine on March 24, the Polish Air Force's Operational Command reported on X.
"All necessary procedures aimed at ensuring the safety of Polish airspace have been activated, and the Operational Command of the Polish Air Force is monitoring the situation continuously," the Polish Air Force wrote on X.
Poland, a NATO member, made the decision to mobilize fighter jets on the morning of March 24, as Russian forces launched another large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine.
Russia launched drone and missile attacks on different oblasts across Ukraine in the early hours of March 24. The attacks targeted regions as far west as Lviv Oblast.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said on Telegram that missile debris landed in a forest in the city's Desnianskyi district.
Poland did not report airspace violations during the attack, scrambling jets as a precautionary measure.
Russian missiles have previously entered Polish airspace during attacks on Ukraine. On Dec. 29, a missile entered Polish airspace, putting the country's defenses on high alert.

Poland worried that Ukraine might launch another missile their way and blame the Russians, again?
(Hey everyone, remember that the above actually did happen!)
Russia probably accidentally invaded their airspace. They probably were attacking the flow of arms into Ukraine from Poland. I looked at the strikes. It was pretty close to the border.
I’m surprised this didn’t happen more often. Rush is probably getting tired of the free flow of arms from NATO countries.
Poland want to be ‘cute’ with the Russians, well, two can dance.

Oh yes, and a lot of people were hot to invoke Article 5, but they were let down when it was found to be a Ukrainian missile.
Yup!
They were Big Mads about it too.

Since Lwów rightfully belongs to Poland I would say they’re bombing Polish land. Don’t be so cocky. Russia hasn’t had much luck fighting Poland.

Poland doesn’t have to worry about getting back Lvyv, as Russia has all but promised them the return of their land after the war.
“Don’t be so cocky. Russia hasn’t had much luck fighting Poland.”
Poland doesn’t seem to be in much of a hurry to follow Little Napoleon into Moscow, so one can safely assume they know not to try fighting Russia.

Who said Poland was going to attack? I’m saying Russia is gonna get an ass-kicking if they attack Poland. That’s why they will never try it.
With all due respect, sir, I wouldn't underestimate modern Poland.
Fair enough.
;)
Poland would love some payback. I don’t blame them for that. If I was Germany I might be nervous. Maybe Poland took out their pipelines. Polish are smart and I expect they are playing this for 75 years of revenge and for keeps.
“What a maroon.”
The partitions (actually there were three) were done by multiple powers ganging up on Poland. The 1st WW Poland was not independent. Second WW was a backstab by the Soviets walking in almost unopposed when Germany had already wrecked the Polish Army. I wouldn’t brag about this.
NATO’s got Poland’s back. At least on papaer.
Ahh.
The “victim” position.
So many on this site are in the victim position.😂🤡
