Feel so very fortunate to have grown up in a time where we could leave or bikes and baseball gloves, etc. on our front lawn...never giving a thought that they wouldn't still be there in the morning.
And this was in the city of South Buffalo, NY...not a rural agricultural zone.
The America we grew up in has vanished.
Ditto in Southern California where I grew up outside of Los Angeles - left our bikes everywhere, no locks, ran outside until the sun went down, perfectly safe. I remember my grandfather leaving the keys to the car in the ignition.
100% unthinkable now...
