OTOH, other women I've known were... difficult to be near, even with deodorant, and perfume only made it worse since it couldn't mask the "natural odor".

LOL. I’ve been in Paris in late July/August. There is no clever “orientation” that can compensate for the heat and humidity. Pity the poor athletes.
