Russia evacuates Belgorod
Russia is evacuating Belgorod as the Oblast is now turning into a battlefield. Free Russian forces are continuing to fight inwards towards Belgorod, with both sides using heavy artillery.
Russian forces have been moved into the area, and are taking losses form Free Russian forces who still hold large swaths of the border region and are near the estern side of Belgorod.
Ukrainian forces inside Ukraine are focusing efforts on pushing the Russians out, and have inflicted high casualties on Russian forces.

Yes I have strong anti-Putin feeling that created this invasion of a sovereign nation not supported by citizens on either side. I also pray for both sides.
I have close friends, missionary and clergy friends in Ukraine and family and close friends in Russia.
There seems to be a diversity of opinions on this site.
Multiple point of views are important on Free Republic. :)

The EU’s new import deal would support Ukraine while protecting the bloc’s farmers

BRUSSELS (AP) — European Union lawmakers agreed Wednesday to renew Ukraine’s import rates, which have been in place since shortly after Russia invaded, while adding protective measures for agricultural products such as grain and honey to address the concerns of farmers across the 27-nation bloc.
Farmers angry at red tape and competition from cheap imports from select countries have been vehemently protesting in recent weeks across the bloc. Poland was among the countries leading the charge against duty-free imports after Polish farmers blocked border crossings with Ukraine in February, spilling Ukrainian grain and burning tires as they intensified a nationwide protest against the import of Ukrainian foods and European Union environmental policies.
Under the deal struck in the early hours of Wednesday, the EU would renew its temporary suspension of import duties and quotas on Ukrainian agricultural exports to the bloc, first granted in 2022 to support Ukraine in the war against Russia.
However, it comes with a reinforced safeguard that will force the EU’s executive arm, the European Commission, “to reintroduce tariff-rate quotas if imports of poultry, eggs, sugar, oats, maize, groats and honey” surpass the average volumes imported in 2022 and 2023. This would limit cheap imports of those goods with the goal of keeping domestic farmers competitive in the market for such staples. (excerpt)

I do agree that different viewpoints need to be heard, especially if they are based on facts and not emotion. People on this site do get caught up sometimes and can take it personally.

lol it has been more than a few days, and they still have not been “pushed” out.
At the very least “the point” is that Russia is having to send troops and equipment to this area of the front which weakens other areas, at the most it shows to the Russian people that Putin can’t even defend actual Russian territory.
While ordering the taking of the rest of the illegally annexed Ukrainian territories, which they haven’t at great cost, parts of Russia are being lost

Basically, the Methodist church has now been divided into liberal and conservative. However, I do not reveal my theological position on Free Republic as I have developed “Frenemies.” BTW, clergy do not have freedom to express their personal political viewpoint in the ‘real’ world.
Interestingly, that is probably why there are many clergy on Free Republic. LOL

Who will re-populate Ukraine? Simple—Russians. Who will marry all the Ukraine women and widows? Same answer.
Nothing I've seen suggests that the Free Russian forces are anything more than a distraction or diversion to draw more Russian troops off the front lines in Ukraine.
They are not expected to stay long and are expected to eventually withdraw -- there are too few of them to do anything else.
But in the meantime, Free Russians could weaken the Russian defenses in Ukraine, and every little bit helps.
They should saved those for future defense

Understood. There are some serious folks on this forum, including me. However, I do want to learn about other issues that I I know nothing about, but it is hard to sift through the emotion sometimes. Thanks for sharing. There ar many on this forum that want to incite emotion because I suspect that they enjoy getting ‘clicks’ from people and enjoy causing a reaction. Others are truly passionate and want to express their views. At any rate, it is an educational forum in many respects.
