MOSCOW (Sputnik) - There has not yet been any need to use tactical nuclear weapons as part of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Dmitry Kiselev, the director general of Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik's parent media group.
"Why should we use weapons of mass destruction? There has never been such a need," Putin said.
When asked whether such an idea ever occurred to him, Putin replied, "No, but why?"
Russia is prepared to use nuclear weapons if the existence of the Russian state is threatened, Putin said. Russia’s nuclear triad is more advanced than that of any other country, Putin also said.
"From the military and technical point of view, we are, of course, ready," Putin said.
The Russian president added that his US counterpart, Joe Biden, is part of a "traditional school of politics" and also that the US has many other experts in the Russia-US relationship and strategic deterrence.
"That is why I do not think that everything is rushing head-on [in that direction], but we are ready for this," Putin said.
Russian also noted the United States is developing nuclear forces, but it does not mean that they are ready to unleash a nuclear war tomorrow.
"They are now setting tasks of increasing their advancement, novelty, they have a corresponding plan. We know about it too. They are developing all their components. So are we. But this does not mean that, in my opinion, they are ready to unleash this nuclear war tomorrow. Well, they want to ... We are ready," Putin said.
Western Countries ‘Powerless’ Before Unity of Russian People
Countries in the so-called collective West found themselves powerless in the face of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and the unity of the Russian people, Putin added.

Translation???
That’s a true statement for anyone with a nuke.
—Deterrence only works if you plan on really using them under the right conditions.
—No one wastes that amount of money for something they know they will never use under any circumstance.
Our threshold for their use is probably lower than Russia. We were the ones debating their use for busting bunkers for years and still are (limited use), we are the only ones to have ever used them on people, there were serious calls for their use in Afghanistan (don’t know if you remember that). We detonated more of them in our tests (atmosphere, space and underground)... It’s just when it’s us, it’s always different. Our reasons are the right reasons, of course, and everyone else...

It was just a lie created to get us to send billions more to Ukraine.
I’ve made this point before. In war, you use the weapon that fits the target. This means that in Ukraine, as things are, strategic nukes are right out; and tactical nukes are only for major military armored unit concentrations.
So it just serves as a warning to NATO: if you send a LOT of armor to Ukraine all at once, it might get nuked. Otherwise, no.
CCCR (russians) would have used them on Germans invading their Meadowlands and detroying their homes and towns.
Too bad for Ukes that globalists forced them to give up their tactical nukes after collapse of the Union.
Putin likes jerking the western media around.
And people buy his stuff, hook, line, and sinker.
Haven’t you noticed, it’s always that way and about everything.
We make fun of Russia calling it a Special Military Operation, but when was the last time we declared war and didn’t call our wars some BS name? Enduring freedom, Iraqi freedom... We LOVE to use our BS slogans (freedom, democracy sovereignty) in the banners/titles of our wars, even if we are installing a dictator!
When they drop clusters munitions we talk about war crimes, when we drop them in 2003 it’s ok.
Our mines are good mines (Korea to this day along DMZ, Vietnam...), their mines are evil and immoral war crime mines.
Our terrorists are freedom fighters: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/explosion-in-st-petersburg-cafe-kills-prominent-russian-pro-war-military-blogger
Their mercenaries are bad, our mercenaries are good.
Their information is propaganda, our information operations is keeping the people well informed. In fact, we keep people so well informed that we even have good Nazis today:

And on and on and on...
People do not apply the same pejoratives to when it is they which do these things. The pejorative “propaganda, terrorist, war criminal, unprovoked attack, bla bla bla,” is reserved for the other guy, the opposing view point.
