Russia's once-potent arms export industry is collapsing amid the pressures of its war on Ukraine and a struggling economy, according to new data released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on Sunday.
The organization's annual update of the arms industry saw Russia fall to third place—behind France and the U.S.—among the globe's largest weapons exporter.
Overall, Russia's arms exports fell by 53 percent from 2014–18 to 2019–23. "The decline has been rapid over the course of the past five years," SIPRI's release noted, adding that Russia's number of significant customers has fallen from 31 to 12 nations over this period
European countries have nearly doubled their arms imports between 2014-2018 and 2019-2023, boosting their purchases by 94% in the period observed, according to a new study by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Given that the Russians dropped an M-1 TANK on a SINGLE SHOT from a T-72, I doubt they need to worry much about orders coming in.

The tank they destroyed was an export model that does not have the advanced armor of the ones used by the US. I suppose they’re calling it an M1 for marketing, but it really isn’t. It should be called something else as the only commonality is the electronics and engine. Also, I didn’t see if the crew of the Abrams survived. But they had a much better chance at survival than any Russian crew. The shells, which are stowed in the tank with the crew on Russian models, are in a separate armored container on the M1 and that container has blowout panels.
