As more food processing plants burn down, the prophecy of pre-Messianic food shortages looms more imminent..

“Despite fewer farms and reduced acreage, the value of agricultural production has increased by 40% (17% in inflation-adjusted dollars), reaching $543 billion in 2022.”

As much as the Globalists want us starving, it’s not happening.

USDA defines a ‘farm’ as an entity that sells over $1K in goods over the course of a year. OK, THAT surprised me!

I could do that selling ONE steer! I’ve DONE that from a make-shift farm stand at the side of the road selling seedlings, vegetables, plants, eggs and flowers...all produced on less than an acre!

I agree with other posters that say there’s so much fraud, waste & abuse (and pork!) in farm bills and the way bills are padded with kickbacks. Find me a bill that isn’t? Find me ONE sector of Mother Government that hasn’t been INFLATED beyond all reason! Grrrr!

But, farming IS changing as much as we might hate to admit it.

There’s no way I’d want to do all I do without some mechanical help; my mule is too old to pull a plow...and so am I. :)

One good thing Connecticut does is buying up the development rights to the farms. It helps out the farmers and the farm can stay a farm. Tulmeadow Farm is a nice farm and the ice cream is delicious.

As a former farmer, I would say the most likely scenario is a farmer was ready to retire and there was no one in his family who wanted to take over and so they sold out to developers.

Bingo.

That’s exactly what’s going on.
