The first SOTU to be televised in prime time was by LBJ in 1965. Others had been televised but during regular business hours. LBJ wanted the prime time audience. It has been so ever since.
A strong, vigorous speech destined to be remembered as one of the greatest SOTU addresses ever.

I think we can expect him to denounce “the MAGA crowd,” but if he really gets going, with his impaired emotional regulation, we may see the red faced shouting and screaming rant of his September 1st Hitler imitation. I don’t think that will sit well with anyone except hardcore rats, who will frame it as “combative and vigorous.”
Methinks quid pro Joe will freeze half way through his incoherency.

I’m sure there will be some positive bump after the State of the Union Address. For the record, Rasmussen reports 39% approval and 60% disapproval of Joe Biden’s presidency on March 7, 2024 (the day of the SOTU). I expect Joe’s approval will climb above 40% but then drop back within 2 weeks of the address.
What a visual, telling the American people fellow Americans are dangerous and also saying open your homes to criminals from foreign lands with very little commonality of cultures. Oh but first, turn in your guns. All while your tax dollars are buying guns used by foreigners to kill other foreigners.

The people watching will probably be mostly hardcore Democrats...and a few conservative pundits who do it so they can dissect it later (or at Lenten penance).
In fact, NPR just had some Karen, some priss miss on about an hour ago discussing that The White Hospice greatly fears this very thing and has apparently sent some sort of missive reminding everyone of the SOTU rules as technically the House is in session during this speech.
Hopefully some camera flashes tonight (if allowed) sets him off to frozen Deer / dementia land.
