Memorization is great because you can recite it when you have nothing in hand or are in a position where you can’t read, like being stuck in a traffic jam.

Or perhaps locked in jail unjustly and denied everything.

Yes - I’m hoping (praying) that some things get so ingrained that whenever people see (for example) “Days of Lot”-type events, that they immediately think of Luke 17:28-30/32 and can basically recite same from memory.

So when they run into somebody in a restaurant or on the street, they’re able to witness to them on the spot.

Repetition forms a stamp on the brain - except for the reprobates

The Holy Spirit has always brought verses to my memory - even when I’m mad or upset about something (or when my attitude is ...... not-so-good .... oops)
