No, not everyone gets such a severe case of measles, as I had, but I knew other children, in the 1950s who did have severe cases.
Covid-19 was completely (and deceitfully) mishandled, but measles isn’t Covid.
Measles is genuinely a very bad disease, and the vaccine is well-tested and actually works.
Please let’s not become the anti-vax party. (I’d leave that for RFK Jr; hopefully he’ll split the Democrat vote.)

The marching orders to the media have gone out. Local Miami media began advertising Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s talking points yesterday morning. Today it has spread to the LA SLIMES.
That was before the measles outbreak, when Ladapo was known chiefly for opposing COVID vaccination despite incontrovertible evidence that it saves lives.
1 in 5 will be hospitalized, 1 in 20 will develop pneumonia (the most common way measles kills young kids), 1 in 1,000 will develop encephalitis (infection of the brain, sometimes causing permanent brain damage), and 1-3 in 1,000 will die.
After the first two paragraphs, I don't believe his *stats* for a minute.
Getting a regular Pap test is a good way to catch cervical cancer early. I suspect that we will see the incidence of cervical cancer INCREASE as too many women thin that just because they had the vaccine, they now won't get it, and so won't go for regular screening.
There are other risk factors for cervical cancer , too. Those need to be watched as well. The HPV vaccine is not the guarantee of protection it's made out to be.

And medical treatment of viral illnesses has come a long way since the 60’s. There are treatments and things we know to watch for and how to treat with anti-virals, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics that were simply not available in the 70’s on back.
Also missing is any stats on WHO is coming down with the measles. Is it vaccinated or unvaccinated? Illegals? Where’d this outbreak come from?
The real issue is where the outbreak originated. The only reason we’re seeing any outbreaks is due to bidens open borders.

They want his hide for making them look like the fools they are.
The media is making this out to be the fault of parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids. How many can that be compared to all of the unvaccinated children eagerly ushered across the southern border and flown all over the country?

Measles causes rare complications. Vaccination has moved the vulnerable population from children to infants who no longer receive their temporary antibodies from their formerly previously infected mothers.
As a kid, my parents along with others would throw a party when one of the kids got measles or chicken pox. Kids would play, almost every kid got sick, was home from school for a few days and that was it.
No one that I could remember died or became severely incapacitated.

Yep, pure BS and propaganda. The author means "1 in 5..." of those who get the measles, not 1 in 5 of all school children.
But he/she/it conveniently leaves that out of the statement, obviously to scare people.
Also not said is the cause of the measles "outbreak". Does the author not care, or is his/her/it's only concern to slam the obviously conservative Surgeon General of Florida, and who, I suspect, knows a lot more about medicine than a business columnist from the LA Times!
