Queen steered off in 1982 with dance oriented music on the album "Hot Space"...and it went over like a fart in an elevator. With "The Works" they went back to rock, though the synths were still there.

Worth a listen. Prescient was the song "Machines (Back to Humans)" that laments the idolatry of technology.

The Works is a great album, and a needed corrective after Hot Space.

Sorry, but I just can’t like a group fronted by such a flaming ho#o. Same for REM.

Their music was pretty good, but they lacked the “I want to be like them factor”. Everyone wanted to be like the Beatles, or some other “rockers”, not many self respecting men wanted to be like Freddy Mercury, at least not in my circles.
