Regarding the tragic consequences of war, there are two possible ways to prevent them: (1) peace through strength, or (2) appeasement. Republicans tend to support (1) and Democrats (2). It isn’t a coincidence that Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014 and then again in 2022. The Democrat approach doesn’t work. The Democrat approach actually results in war. If Trump had been re-elected in 2020, Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine.
I think there is a strong case to be made for that. I do agree with your
premise 100%. Peace through strength has stood the test of time.
